Real Madrid vs Osasuna - Match Report

17:05

Cristiano Ronaldo and Isco put Zidane's men top.

Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Isco and Lucas Vazquez helped Real to stay clear a point at the top of the table, having played 2 games less.

The first half was overshadowed by Osasuna right-back Tano, fracturing the tibia and fibula of his right leg in a collision with Isco. Keylor Navas had to stretch out to his bottom left corner when a deflected shot was about to go in the goal.

Cristiano Ronaldo gave Real the lead in the 24th minute when he got a through-ball from Karim Benzema and scored with his first shot of the night. 1-0. Goal- C.Ronaldo.

But Osasuna refused to stay down and equalised in the 33rd minute with a brilliant chipped goal from Sergio Leon. 1-1. Goal- S.Leon.

Benzema was denied by the Osasuna goalkeeper, Salvatore Sirigu, who stretched out to the feet of Benzema to deny him after taking the shot from the pass by Ronaldo.

Keylor Navas proved that he is the man at the Real Madrid goal with a series of brilliant stops in the 43rd and the 47th minute and silenced the critics.

Isco got the loose ball in the 18-yard box when Benzema lost it due to some strong challenges from the Osasuna defenders, but Isco was quick to react and scored with his right foot. 2-1. Goal- Isco.

Sirigu denied Cristiano Ronaldo with a sharp, low 1v1 save in the 74th minute and kept Osasuna's hopes alive.

Real should have got a penalty in the 78th minute when Ronaldo controlled the cross Vazquez with his chest and Osasuna's defender struck his arm out to stop Ronaldo to get to the ball before Sirigu collected it.

Lucas Vazquez missed an open goal when a cross from James Rodriguez made the keeper committed but a strong tackle by Oier made the Spaniard miss an open goal.

But Lucas Vazquez made amends for his mistake as he chipped the ball over a committed Sirigu and signalled game over for Osasuna in the 90+2 minute. 3-1. Goal- L.Vazquez.
